Chinese Electric and Autonomous Vehicle Firm Monitors U.S. Political Landscape to Prepare for Listing
Our Objective
Just as the U.S. Congress was considering a law to de-list Chinese companies from American exchanges, a Chinese autonomous driving and electric vehicle company wanted to enter the U.S. market with an initial public offering. Given the increasing scrutiny and politicization of Chinese listed companies, the company needed to carefully monitor and navigate the U.S. political and regulatory environment to develop its listing strategy.
Our Approach
Our team outlined a strategy to help the company understand existing regulations, relevant government and industry stakeholders, and ongoing policy conversations impacting the direction of U.S. policy and sentiment toward U.S.-listed Chinese companies. Given the overlap in U.S. and Chinese regulation impacting Chinese tech companies seeking to list overseas, our U.S. and China-based teams worked seamlessly to provide regular policy and issue monitoring reports, comprehensive regulatory and stakeholder mapping reports, and ongoing advisory on how the evolving situation could impact their business goals.
Our Impact
Working across the U.S. and China markets, our team’s reporting and analysis helped the client prepare for potential risk and devise a strategy to go public in the United States.
