Kendra Schaefer is a Senior Fellow at Basilinna Institute. She is also a partner at Beijing-based strategic advisory consultancy Trivium China and a Nonresident Fellow at the National Bureau of Asian Research. Kendra leads the Trivium tech policy research team, where she briefs investors, companies, and governments on Chinese tech regulation, including issues such as AI, data policy, and digital technologies. She is Chief Editor of Trivium’s premium newsletter Trivium Tech Daily, a daily policy brief on Trivium’s analysis on government-driven Chinese tech developments. Kendra lived in China from 2002 to 2022, where she began her career as a user researcher and developer, building cross-cultural interfaces for foreign firms entering the China market.
