Margaret Myers is a Senior Fellow at Basilinna. She is also a leading expert on China-Latin America relations, international trade, and global economic policy. Margaret is the founder of China and Latin America, a premier platform dedicated to analyzing the evolving dynamics between China and Latin American nations, and is the Managing Director of Institute for America, China, and the Future of Global Affairs (ACF) at The John Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Previously, Myers served as the director of the Asia & Latin America Program at the Inter-American Dialogue, where she spearheaded research initiatives and policy discussions on China’s role in Latin America. Her expertise has been sought by governments, academic institutions, and media outlets worldwide. A recognized thought leader, Myers continues to shape the conversation on global economic relations and regional development strategies—regularly contributing to publications and speaking at international forums, offering deep analysis on economic trends, political shifts, and the long-term implications of China’s engagement in Latin America. Margaret is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
